VINYL PRESSING FAQs

WHAT DO WE NEED?

First things first, we require the following: 1. Vinyl Master 2. Graphics/Art Files 3. Completed Track List And Copyright Declaration Form Your account manager will be able to talk you though the process. Alternatively, check out our 'Everything You Need to Start!' page.

AUDIO LENGTHS FOR VINYL

Audio lengths on your vinyl can affect the audio quality, here are the recommended audio lengths per side. 33 RPM: 12" - 20-23 mins per side 10" - 12-14 mins per side 7" - 6-8 mins per side 45 RPM: 12" - 13-15 mins per side 10" - 8-10 mins per side 7" - 4-6 mins per side The speed of your vinyl record can/will depend on the audio and vinyl master. If you are unsure if the speed, the audio engineers cutting the lacquers can cut it as they recommend. If you are ordering a 7" with sides over 5 minutes long, our advice is to leave the RPM open and let our cutting engineer recommend the best speed. The above are recommended guidelines and can be exceeded, but by doing this it becomes necessary to lower the volume and reduce higher frequencies to minimise risk of distortion.

CAN I ENGRAVE LEAD OUT GROOVES?

Yes you can! Text/Numbers will be in CAPITAL LETTERS and must be standard letters, numbers and symbols only (maximum of 60 characters including spaces). Please contact your account manager to request lead-out groove engravings and indicate on your order form.

WHAT ARE

TEST PRESSINGS?

HOW SHOULD I SUPPLY MY ARTWORK

Test pressings are from newly created metalwork, they are used to evaluate quality, volume levels and listen for any unacceptable audio imperfections prior to the final press. Five test pressings is the minimum we press. This is so that any artefacts that are discovered can be referenced to the other copies to help determine whether there is a serial issue or fault, or a more localised and often easily resolvable one. It is possible to order more than five test pressings, we know they make great giveaways! Our test press prices include 2 day tracked and insured shipping.

Please send us high quality PDF files with any imagery at 300dpi in a CMYK Colour profile. We have a full range of templates available for all vinyl products including labels, inner sleeves, outer sleeves, gatefolds and more. If you don't see what you are looking for, please contact us and we will send the relevant templates to you. Please read through our 'Artwork Specifications' for more information.
